Mahesh Gautam

Senior Water Resources Engineer - CA Department of Water Resources

 

Mahesh Gautam is a member of the California Department of Water Resources’ (DWR) team for the implementation of the Open and Transparent Water Data Act (AB 1755, Dodd). His current work focuses on developing guidance, tools, and resources to help support publication of DWR water and ecological data, making such data discoverable, accessible, and useful, and on promoting their uses in decision making.


In the past, Mahesh has worked with interdisciplinary teams of experts from diverse organizations in finding solutions to a range of water management problems that include flood risk management, water accounting, groundwater monitoring, water supply, and climate change vulnerability and impact analysis. 


Mahesh holds a Ph.D. in hydrology, an M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering, and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
