Senior Communications & Outreach Manager

Alyssa Celones Senturk (she/they) is the Senior Communications & Outreach Manager for the California Water Data Consortium. Her work focuses on leading all internal and external communications, ensuring consistency, effectiveness, and stewarding and enhancing the Consortium’s reputation among stakeholders.

Alyssa is a creative storyteller with a multimedia marketing and science communication background. Prior to joining the Consortium, Alyssa led communications and outreach for San Diego Coastkeeper, a local Waterkeeper organization, and focused on supporting programs and projects that help protect and restore fishable, swimmable, and drinkable waters in San Diego County.  They also relaunched Surfrider Foundation San Diego’s Blue Water Task Force, a volunteer-run community science and water quality monitoring program, and served on the chapter’s Executive Committee. Alyssa has also led marketing campaigns for several California statewide clean energy programs with their work at Center for Sustainable Energy.

Alyssa holds a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California Santa Barbara, with a minor in Latin American and Iberian Studies.
