Lacey McBride

Lacey McBride has been serving as Merced County’s Water Resources Manager since 2016. Focusing on the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, she coordinates implementation across the County’s four groundwater basins and assists the County in managing other water resources issues.

Formerly, McBride spent six years as the director of federal governmental relations for UC Merced where she was the primary liaison between the University and Congressional representatives, working to advance the policy priorities of the University and facilitate faculty advocacy with federal research agencies.

Prior to her time at UC Merced, McBride served in a Congressional office in Washington, D.C. analyzing a portfolio of policy issues including agriculture, water, natural resources, transportation, immigration, and trade.

McBride received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from CSU, Stanislaus and a Masters of Business Administration from George Washington University. She currently lives in Merced with her husband and two young sons.
